Trek for Kids
Trek for Kids is an initiative from the GSK and Save the Children partnership. In March 2019 forty GSK trekkers, from around the world, will climb Ras Dashen to raise money for Save the Children.
About the trek
In March 2019, 40 GSK employees from around the world will trek the Simien Mountains in Ethiopia to the 4,550m summit of Ras Dashen, to raise money for Save the Children.
Each trekker has committed to raise £4,550, which will be a total of £183,000 and every penny raised will be matched by GSK. During their trip the trekkers will also visit and learn about some of Save the Children’s work in Ethiopia.
The Trek for Kids challenge is part of GSK’s internal employee engagement programme, Orange United. Through Orange United, GSK employees contribute their time, expertise and enthusiasm to support the partnership with Save the Children by volunteering and fundraising.
